About us
The study group was established in 2005 under the auspices of the UK Political Studies Association to provide opportunities for discussion, debate and research on sport politics. The group is very active and hosts annual events (conferences, workshops and panels) to foster the development of academic research on sport politics within political studies/science, and political aspects of sport in related fields and disciplines.
The group's main activities include the promotion and exchange of knowledge on the politics of sport through:
- Panels at the Annual Association Conference
- A group annual conference
- Specialist events on specific issues
- Publications
Please feel free to contact the convenors if you have any questions or comments about the activities of the Group. We are keen to hear from you if you have an interesting proposal for organising a panel at the annual meeting of the PSA or if you are interested in getting the Group involved in a politics of sport-related event in the United Kingdom.
